Jake the Ripper
DJ Jake the Ripper is a west coast native. A son of a miner, Jake has moved 9 times across the nation, but chose Cincinnati as his homestead. Jake the Ripper was born with an unmistakable ear for music, playing his first gig at a pool party as a child with a virtual DJ computer program at age 12. Next he was onto making mixes for National Certified Aerobics instructors for fitness classes at well-known clubs. He may not have known then, but his clients did, that he was a natural born DJ. The Rippers name was given to him. Coined by his client’s response to his parties, he was told repeatedly “You ripped it”, in turn, Jake the Ripper was born.
Jake the Ripper is known as a reactionary DJ. Not planning a map of music for a venue; he arrives at the party, gets a feel for the crowd, and on the fly, plays songs that fit the mood and the clients. He is esteemed as a unique, committed, and dedicated DJ. Jake the Ripper prefers to expose his clients to several senses. He achieves this by combining traditional DJ’ing with Video DJ’ing. Playing songs and music videos, he combines auditory and visual stimulation, and in turn physical reaction through his sets.
Consistently booked five nights a week, Jake the Ripper is brought into venues for one specific purpose: Party Rocking! He is one of the premier DJs in the Midwest achieving interest from clients through blending, mashing, remixing, while bringing his own flavor of turntable-ism to every show. He is able to adapt to any genre but is known widely for his skill in Rock, Hip-Hop, Electro, Funk and Soul. Jake the Ripper Hosted the DJ battle “Cincinnati’s Best DJ” at Newport on the Levee, bringing in forty one DJs to showcase the talent of the tri-state’s finest skills.
